Taking Good Care of Our Coffee, Our People, Our Farmers, Our Planet
We love coffee and we love sharing coffee with people. One of our great joys at Red Rooster is building relationships with our wholesale partners. We offer a full spectrum of award winning, transparently traded, expertly processed coffees, that are roasted with care. Along with delicious coffee, we offer our signature line of JT Copper Syrups for a sweet boost and our carefully crafted single origin and brialliantly blended Red Rooster Tea.

COFFEE
Visit the Coffee CollectionEstablished in 2010 in downtown Floyd, VA, Red Rooster coffee was created with the simple notion of roasting excellent coffee for the owner’s existing coffee house. Soon, word of Red Rooster's quality spread around Virginia and up and down the East Coast.
Today, we employ over 40 people while roasting some of the best coffee in the world.
As always, our true passion is in making a positive social impact both at home and abroad at the coffee's origin.
-
SYRUP
Visit the Syrup CollectionSometime in 2015, lifelong baking enthusiasts and members of the Red Rooster team, Jolie & Theda, turned their deep appreciation for premium ingredients and rich flavors into their own extracts and syrups as a way to ensure that only simple, quality ingredients were going into their recipes.
Today, JT Copper is committed handcrafting syrups from pure, simple ingredients that are thoughtfully sourced and as local as possible.
-
TEA
Visit the Tea CollectionOrginally branded as Swallowtail Tea in 2018, the Red Rooster Tea line was a farmer's passion project that bloomed into a delicious line of tisanes and high-quality, single origin teas.
Recently re-branded as Red Rooster Tea, our unique and delicious tisanes make a wonderful alternative to our coffee offerings, while our single origin teas and blends bring the quality and flavor of traditional tea processes that our customers have come to expect from Red Rooster.
COFFEE WITH A CONSCIENCE
From the very beginning, Red Rooster has operated under 3 main ethical tenants:
-
TRANSPARENTLY TRADED COFFEE
We source all of our coffee responsibly. We use Organic and Fair Trade coffees for all of our signature blends and many of our single origins. When our coffees are not Organic or Fair Trade, they are of premium quality, transparently sourced from estates and farms that are known to treat workers equitably and take care of the land. In many cases we buy coffee from farmers and traders in the country of origin, meaning more money flows into the country and farmers can take better care of their coffee trees and their families.
-
SUSTAINABILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION
We have always strived to operate sustainably in our daily operations by offering biodegradable coffee bags, having our bags hand-printed locally using water-based inks, composting our chaff with local organic farms, and minimizing our footprint by recycling and reusing within our facilities. We use only compostable to-go products in our coffee shop. In fact, our co-owner, Haden, was a founding member and president of the local sustainability non-profit, SustainFloyd.
-
IMPACT AT HOME
As a family business, we have always strived to do our part to help create a vibrant local community by hiring locally, providing a living wage and full health care benefits to our employees, contributing to local charities, and participating in local fundraisers all with the intention of developing into an economic and social anchor in our small rural community. In 2018 we licensed an onsite day care specifically for our employees children.
